BECOME A CFACT MEMBER
Becoming a CF ACT Member
CFACT provides membership benefits to residents of the ACT and surrounding areas in NSW who have CF. We also provide support to carers and families and work closely with the local CF specialist medical teams with the goal of better outcomes for all people with CF.
Support we provide:
Financial Assistance
$1,000 a year for adults and $500 a year for children to cover:
– Fitness/Sporting memberships and equipment
– Medical equipment—new, maintenance and replacement
– Nutritional supplements
Annual supply of VitABDECK
VitABDECK must be prescribed by your CF Specialist but can be ordered through CFACT free of charge. Each supply covers 12 months for children and 6 months for adults.
Nebulisers
CFACT can often assist members with the purchase of a new nebuliser. Your CF clinical team need to review and recommend the best nebuliser for you. Requests will be assessed separately from your annual financial cap and considered by the Management Committee.
Peer Support
CFACT can help assist:
– Starting School information visits for teachers
– New diagnosis support for parents
– Events and functions
Exclusions
There are some items that are not covered by CFACT’s financial assistance. These include:
– Travelling for medical interventions (you can apply for IPTAAS)
– Home modifications
– Household bills (for electricity you can apply for the essential medical equipment payment from the Dept of Human Services)
– School fees
Please note that this list is not exhaustive and some items will be at the discretion of the Management Committee.
If You have Reached Your Financial Assistance Cap
If you have reached your annual financial cap but are in urgent need of support, further assistance will be considered by the Management Committee at their monthly meeting. Financial support beyond the cap is in no way guaranteed but we will do our best to help.
