Fundraising
Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA) has a long history of dedicated fundraisers who have set themselves a challenge to do their bit to change the world.
By choosing to fundraise for CFA, you are choosing to support research, you are choosing to help us extend life expectancy for people with cystic fibrosis (CF), and you are choosing to help us fight for access to the best and most current treatments.
You are choosing to support our researchers until CF stands for Cure Found. We need your help.
Our Community Fundraisers are everyday people, who want to make a difference.
Their goal is simple – raise awareness and raise vital funds for our cause.

Melbourne to Sydney for Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis Australia is proud to support Paraic O’Neill, a 27 year old Irish ultra endurance runner now based in Australia, as he takes on an extraordinary 1,200 kilometre journey from Melbourne to Sydney.
For Paraic, this challenge is deeply personal. Nearly six years ago, he lost a lifelong friend to cystic fibrosis. Watching someone he loved fight for every breath stays with you. It is what drives him to keep going, even when it gets tough.
This is not just about distance or endurance. It is about standing with people living with cystic fibrosis, who face a far greater challenge every single day.
Running ultra marathon distances across consecutive days is physically and mentally demanding. Still, Paraic shows up each day, pushing through the highs and the lows to raise awareness and vital funds for the cystic fibrosis community.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps strengthen our efforts to support research and improve access to treatments for people living with cystic fibrosis. Follow his journey, share his story, and be part of creating meaningful change.
Past Fundraisers
Stronger Every Breath

In 2023, Layne Storrier accomplished an extraordinary feat by completing 36 consecutive half Ironmans to raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Australia.
Beyond the awe-inspiring nature of his achievement, Layne’s effort underscores the profound impact that Community Fundraising can have on the CF Community, emphasizing that every contribution, regardless of its scale, makes a significant difference.

Kaden’s Epic Backyard Ultra for CF Australia

On September 14, 2024, Kaden took on an extraordinary endurance challenge: the “Backyard Ultra.”
In this grueling event, Kaden ran 6.71km every hour on the hour, pushing his limits to raise awareness and support for the Cystic Fibrosis community.
Thanks to the incredible support from the community, each lap Kaden completed brought him closer to his fundraising goal. After an astounding 36 hours and 36 laps, Kaden raised over $66,000!
We’re beyond grateful to Kaden for his “Meaningful Miles” and the community that rallied behind him. Your efforts make a real difference in the lives of those living with CF. Thank you, Kaden!
